Privacy Policy
Multicultural Bridge Society of Alberta respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website, contact forms and event registration forms.
Information We Collect
Depending on the form you complete, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, organization or performance group name, website or social media links, performance details, preferred performance dates and times, uploaded files and other relevant information requested in the form. We also record the date and time of submissions.
Our website and service providers may process technical information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to operate and protect the website and prevent spam.
Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry or application. If you provide another person’s personal information, please ensure you have their permission.
How We Use Your Information
We use submitted information to:
- Respond to enquiries about our activities, volunteering and sponsorship.
- Review event and performance applications.
- Coordinate performance dates, times, technical requirements and participation.
- Send registration confirmations, registration numbers and relevant event updates.
- Maintain necessary administrative records and prevent spam or misuse.
Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Receiving event-related communications does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated promotional emails.
Who May Receive Your Information
Access is limited to authorized people who need the information for the purposes described above. Relevant application details may be shared with event partners and organizing personnel when necessary to review applications and coordinate activities.
We also use service providers for website hosting, form processing, email delivery and backups. Information may be processed outside Canada depending on the services used.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law.
Contact Information
Phone numbers and email addresses submitted through our forms are not used for public display.
Event Photos and Videos
We may take photos and videos at events for use on the Society’s website, social media, event promotional materials and in advertising.
How Long We Keep Information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected, including event administration, follow-up and applicable record-keeping requirements.
When information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. Copies in backups may remain until those backups are replaced through the normal backup cycle.
Non-personal event history, such as public program information, may be retained for archival purposes.
Protecting Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
